Comparison guide

Chatbot, AI agent or agentic AI: which do you need?

A plain comparison of what each can do, how much a person stays involved, and where each one fits. No jargon, no price list: scope and price come after a diagnosis.

Quick answer

Choose a chatbot when the work is answering. Choose an AI agent when the work is doing a task in your tools. Choose an agentic system when the work is a chain of steps across systems. Whatever you choose, a person decides wherever a mistake is expensive.

Quick decision guide

Start from the work, not the technology.

1
If you mostly need answers

Questions repeat, people wait for replies, leads go cold at night: start with an assistant.

2
If people copy data between tools

Visits, quotes, records and follow-ups done by hand: an agent takes the whole task.

3
If the work is a chain of steps

Intake, checking, acting and following up across systems: that is an agentic system, built one step at a time.

FAQ

Questions we hear

What is the difference between a chatbot, an AI agent and agentic AI?
A chatbot answers questions. An AI agent also takes actions in your tools, like creating a record or drafting a quote. An agentic system coordinates several agents, memory and human checkpoints to run a whole multi-step process.
Which one should a business start with?
With the smallest thing that removes real work. Often that is one assistant or one agent on a single painful task; agentic systems come later, when several steps need to be coordinated.
Do agentic systems run without people?
They should not where mistakes are expensive. We design every level so the AI proposes and a person approves the steps that matter, with monitors that flag drift.
How long does each take to build?
Our first tools go to production in weeks, whatever the type. Bigger agentic systems grow from there, one step at a time, with a closed scope and price agreed after a diagnosis.

Not sure which one fits?

A diagnosis maps where your team loses time and which level of AI would give it back.
